Rebounders, Milestone Coach wins highlight latest Women's Basketball State Poll

The state's top team rebounding leaders are profiled in this week's CCCWBCA State Top 25 Coaches Poll, but it's been a big week for head coaches, three who recently reached special milestone career win marks.
The top nine teams stay in the top 10 as #1 Butte College received 16 of 19 first place votes (472 points) with #2 Mt. San Antonio (three first place votes, 457 points) proving to be the class of the South right now. Moorpark (426) is #3, followed by #4 Orange Coast (410), #5 San Joaquin Delta (389), #6 Fresno City (377), #7 Glendale (359), #8 Palomar (328), and #9 Mt. San Jacinto (307). Laney (253) climbs into the top 10 at #10.
Santa Barbara City College HC Sandrine Krul and LA Valley coach Monica Hang each recorded wins #300 in their long careers while Foothill's Corey Cafferata registered his 200th career victory.
1. Butte, Golden Valley, 24-1: The Roadrunners have won 21 in a row, including three straight 100-plus point performances in their last three games. Butte is running away with the Golden Valley Conference title, now at 5-0, and has a 10-game conference win streak dating back to last year. Jocelyn Medina averages 7.4 rebounds per game. LW: #1
2. Mt. San Antonio, South Coast North, 20-2: The Mounties have won 16 straight and are 3-0 to top the SCC North, including a 61-47 win over #T25 Pasadena City. Mt. SAC has a 20-game conference win streak that dates back to 2020. Daisia Mitchell averages 9.5 rebounds. LW: #2
3. Moorpark, Western State North, 19-3: The Raiders have won 14 consecutive contests and stand 7-0 to lead the WSC North. They lead #23 Ventura by one game in the standings and play the Pirates this Saturday in an effort to all but clinch the conference title. MC has won 23 in a row in conference play, last losing in 2022 v. Ventura. Success Prysock averages 6.7 rebounds. LW: #3
4. Orange Coast, Orange Empire, 19-3: The Pirates have a 2-game lead in the OEC standings at 8-0 (won 15 straight in conference play dating back to last year). OCC extended its current overall win streak to nine with its second triumph in conference over second-place #12 Irvine Valley, 63-53. OCC climbs a spot. Alyssa Dreessen averages 7 rebounds. LW: #5
5. San Joaquin Delta, Big 8, 18-4: The Mustangs achilles heel in Big 8 play is #11 Folsom Lake, which ended Delta's 7-game win string and handed them a second conference defeat, 67-66, in overtime. Delta is 8-0 v. the rest of the Big 8 and rebounded with a 37-point win over #19 Santa Rosa. Delta falls one slot. Selai Niu averages 6.8 rebounds. LW: #4
6. Fresno City, Central Valley, 19-4: The Rams are on a 10-game win streak and top the CVC at 7-0. They saw a 19-point halftime lead evaporate v. #17 Sequoias by the end of the third quarter, but went on to record a 77-73 win. Angela Whitfield averages 6.8 rebounds. LW: #6
7. Glendale, Western State South, 20-2: The Vaqueros extended their win streak to 15 games, including passing #23 Citrus (7-1) for the WSC South lead (8-0) by beating the Owls, 64-53, on Jan. 24. Glendale has won 16 in a row in conference since last year. Osanna Tirityan and Paola Gorgeiz each averages 7.6 rebounds. LW: #7
8. Palomar, Pacific Coast Athletic, 18-5: The Comets' 36-game PCAC win streak dating back to 2020 was snapped in an upset loss to unranked San Diego Mesa, 62-59, on Jan. 31. Mesa shares the conference lead with Palomar, both at 6-1. Mackenzie Kozina averages 8.8 rebounds. LW: #8
9. Mt. San Jacinto, Inland Empire Athletic, 22-3: The Eagles are 7-0 to lead the IEAC and have a 25-game conference win streak (six of those forfeits) going back to 2022. MSJC took care its closest competitor in #16 Victor Valley, 79-64, on Jan. 27. Jana Roman averages 11.4 rebounds. LW: #9
10. Laney, Bay Valley, 18-4: The Eagles have won 10 straight, including exacting some revenge on unranked Solano, 82-36, to gain a tie for first in the BVC at both 9-1. Laney moves up a space. Jada Hunter averages 9.5 rebounds. LW: #11
11. Folsom Lake, Big 8, 16-7: After losing by 12 to #15 Sierra, the Falcons recorded big wins over #19 Santa Rosa by eight points, then the OT upset over #5 Delta. FLC is tied for third in a tight 4-team race for first as it moves up two spots in the rankings. Corrie Harrison averages 10.1 rebounds. LW: #13
12. Irvine Valley, Orange Empire, 15-7: The Lasers had a 6-game win streak broken by #4 Orange Coast as they are in second place in the OEC. Makena Tomlinson averages 9.9 rebounds. LW: #12
13. City College of San Francisco, Coast North, 16-6: The Rams beat unranked Skyline, 69-62, and are tied with the Trojans for first in the Coast North at 5-1. CCSF also downed #24 San Mateo, 65-47. San Francisco slingshots up three ratings places. Madison Thomas averages 10.9 rebounds. LW: #16
14. Cosumnes River, Big 8, 19-4: After starting conference at 7-0, the Hawks have lost three of their last four Big 8 contests. They lost by 14 to unranked Modesto before #15 Sierra defeated them by 16 last week. CRC slips four spaces. Mikaela Whalen averages 7.5 rebounds. LW: #10
15. Sierra, Big 8, 15-8: The Wolverines caught fire, have won 7 in a row and now lead the Big at 9-2. Sierra posted a 76-64 win over #11 Folsom Lake and a 79-63 triumph over #14 Cosumnes River. Sierra took the elevator up five floors. Julianne Cotterill averages 13 rebounds. LW: #20
16. Victor Valley, Inland Empire Athletic, 20-6: The Rams lost for the first time in six games by 15 points to #9 Mt. San Jacinto to drop to second in the IEAC at 7-1. VVC hopes to grab a possible share of the title in the rematch v. MSJC on Feb. 23. Victor Valley rises one slot. Taneah Johnson averages 10.5 rebounds. LW: #17
17. College of the Sequoias, Central Valley, 14-8: The Giants had won five consecutive before losing two in a row to #6 Fresno by four, then being stung by unranked Reedley, 67-60. Sequoias drops two in the ratings. Lucia Ricci averages 6.7 rebounds. LW: #15
18. Long Beach City, South Coast South, 11-9: The Vikings were 2-0 to open SCC South play and also picked up a 10-point non-conference win over #24 Ventura. Chioma Okenwa averages 8.3 rebounds. LW: #18
19. Santa Rosa Junior College, Big 8, 14-9: The Bear Cubs have fallen on hard times of late with losses to #11 Folsom Lake (66-58) and against #5 Delta, 87-50. SRJC tumbles five places. Meredith Gilbertson and Ivy Gonzalez each averages 8.3 rebounds. LW: #14
20. San Jose City, Coast South, 20-3: Winners of seven in a row, the Jaguars pace the Coast South Division at 7-0, including a 2-point win over unranked Hartnell (6-1 in second place). San Jose bumps up one spot. Danna Martinez averages 9.6 rebounds. LW: #21
21. Chabot, Coast North, 15-8: The Gladiators picked up wins over Las Positas and Ohlone and face #13 San Francisco, a team they beat earlier in conference, on Tuesday. It's a 2-slot fall for Chabot. Jadyn Anderson averaged 6.3 rebounds. LW: #19
22. Citrus, Western State South, 17-5: The Owls responded from their 11-point loss to #7 Glendale by winning three in a row, edging West LA, 77-76, in OT and also posting single-digits victories over Antelope Valley and Bakersfield. Sammy Martinez averages 9.9 rebounds. Citrus steps up one. LW: #23
23. Ventura, Western State North, 15-8: The Pirates lost to #18 Long Beach, 73-63, but have won their last four WSC North games. It's a one place drop. Alexa Coubal averages 11.2 rebounds. LW: #24
24. College of San Mateo, Coast North, 16-7: The Bulldogs fell to fourth place in conference followinga 20-point loss to unranked Sklyline and an 18-point defeat to #13 CCSF. CSM descends two slots. Joslyn Moore averages 8.4 rebounds. LW: #22
T25. Imperial Valley, Pacific Coast Athletic, 16-6: The Desert Warriors are hanging around in the PCAC race, one win back of #8 Palomar and SD Mesa at 5-1. IV has won three consecutive, highlighted by a 3-point win over Mesa. Amy Riles averages 9.5 rebounds. LW: #25
T25. Pasadena City, South Coast North, 13-9: The Lancers jumped back on to the Top 25 with a 5-point win over East LA and a solid showing v. #2 Mt. SAC as they held a 28-20 halftime lead before the Mounties roared back for a 14-point win. Antuanae Garrett averages 8.8 rebounds. LW: NR
