Big 8 Conference making waves in State Women's Volleyball Top 25 #7
This week's State Women's Volleyball Top 25 is seeing a push in the Big 8 Conference as perennial power San Joaquin Delta remains steady at #3 while #22 Sacramento City, #23 American River and newly ranked at #25 Cosumnes River all are moving on up.
Even the Best of the Rest includes Sierra and Modesto as Big 8 members that are part of the current NorCal Top 15.
Meanwhile, Mt. San Antonio bolts into the top 10 at #8, picking up steam with a 5-set victory over now #11 Pasadena City including its recent triumph over #10 Fresno City on Sept. 26.
Both #15 Long Beach City, a winner over Mt. SAC on Sept. 24, and #19 Grossmont have put their ships back on course and above .500 after each struggled through hard early-season schedules that included many top-ranked teams.
None of the top seven squads changed as #1 Feather River continues to lead the state in victories with 22 while #2 San Diego Mesa appears to be the class of the South Region. At #4, Orange Coast is still the only team left undefeated after 15 matches played.
At #24, Ventura rejoins the rankings.
